I think I’m on writer’s block. I am not that motivated to write. I did not open my laptop for weeks. Even if I thought of something, I could not even jot it down with pen and paper. I missed days in my planner/gratitude journal. Beyond the routine running notes for every OT treatment session, I only got as far as shading the circle beside my senatorial candidate names. Oh the May Elections. What a spectacle.
Binge watching Netflix was not even helpful in decreasing my procrastination or increasing my motivation to write. So I tried compensating by reading instead, stumbling to some much needed inspiration. Below is my reading list in the past few weeks:
BOOKS
Business/Finance/Economics
The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future by Chris Guillebeau
When to Rob a Bank by Steven R. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner
Travel
Vagabonding by Rolf Potts- Some sort of a backpacking Bible I first known from Tim Ferris’ book, the 4-hour Work Week
Spirituality
Dhammapada- An important book about Buddhism mentioned in one of the reading lists in Potts’ Vagabonding
BLOGS
https://www.millennial-revolution.com/ About a millennial couple who upon reaching financial independence left their engineering jobs and retired early to travel the world
http://earlyretirementextreme.com– One of the internet pioneers of FIRE movement
The common themes among all these are:
- Simple yet efficient business that generates positive cash flow
- Financial independence and early retirement a.k.a the FI/RE movement
- Peace of mind and spirituality
- Freedom to travel
In line with these, I aim to be a financially independent occupational therapist with options to retire early and travel more.
